Quote Spookisback="Spookisback"I had heard of each of Copczack, Moors and SL from their Superleague days ... but I’d never heard of Lockwood so I looked him up ... and was really surprised that three of the four are 35 years old... that’s a big risk for a team courting promotion....

It's very difficult for upwardly mobile Championship teams to build a young team, and especially a young pack, because as soon as they show any talent, especially in the forwards, they are snapped up by a SL team. We lost James Harrison and Frankie Halton, two forwards with outstanding potential, at the end of last season, and there's such a dearth of forwards even at SL level that veterans such as Moors and Koppy, who were both good for us last year, are very solid signings.
Lockwood isn't a flashy player at all so am not surprised he's not well known outside the Championship but he's been one of the most well-respected players around in the second tier, a real workhorse and massively popular with his team mates to the extent that even though he's quiet he's still the obvious choice as captain. He's originally from Sharlston (or maybe Crofton as mentioned) and I think he's long-time pals with Danny Kirmond from the same neck of the woods.
