I once caught 4 buses to get from Hill Top in Knottingley to Arena 84 for a match against Huddersfield Barracudas. I arrived at the ground at 6.45 on a cold and dark winters night only to be told they'd called it off because the pitch was frozen, no one at Wakefield Trinity thought to get a message to me to let me know. To make matters worse I'd started work that morning at 5.30am, I was docked 2 hours pay for leaving early to get to the game and I had no money on me to get home as I was expecting to go back on the team coach.
