| Grix at loose forward? That's taking the armchair coaching too far. When he came in at the end of 2016 I saw him as a direct replacement for Craig Hall as a utility back. Turns out he's given us far more than I thought.

| The Grix to loose forward thing as a symptom of where we've come from.
We used to be in a position where we had 4-5 good quality players with a smattering of quite good players. In that team you play good players out of position to get the best out of the team.
In our team now we have very good players in every position with good backup too.
If we need a 13 we can play Arona, Horo and Annakin who are very good in that position.......and all lead the tackle count when they play (bar Ashurst), We don't need to change it.

Crowther should get the 13 shirt ahead of Grix as well.
I still cant fathom where SP was coming from with the Grix loose forward idea

| He's trying to shoehorn his brains on to the field, nothing wrong with that but 13 is a bit of a stretch.
I don't really get the objections to putting him where he's supposed to be.
Jowitt has been fine but I don't see him as a shoe-in, don't see Grix as a shoe-in either, its 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.
Who plays the next game ?
Well without the benefit of the coaches eye and internal matters, I'd give Grix a run, sleeping with one eye on the fact he hasn't played competitively for 3 months, but I won't be wetting my pants of Jowitt stays in.

At this moment, it will be down to the fitness and form of both players and what the plans are for next season and beyond.
Not sure how long Grix is contracted for but, now that the chance of glory is over for this season, the time is right for Chester & Co to be sorting out what will be best for the club, team and players next season.
It would be good to see some of our future prospects getting some game time.
Obviously this can only be the odd player getting a game but, surely, now is the time to try them and perhaps rest anyone who is busted.
Having said that, we still want to finish the season reasonably well so it's going to be a balancing act.

| Quote Scarlet Pimpernell="Scarlet Pimpernell"You lose games, no players go out to play badly. We did what we needed to do this season with Jowitt at full back for a large part of it.
I suppose in a perverse sort of way I benefit from the fact that I have supported the club for long enough to watch both the good and really bad teams. The current squad is one of the best we have put together for about 20 years.
We have players committing long term to the club. We run various teams and are looking to put a reserve team out next season something Leeds a so called big club are complaining about.
I do not think that losing to St Helens requires a forum meltdown by some.'"
Are you saying it’s a well run club and MC is doing a amazing job signing the players he has done???

| Interesting times, when a loss to Saints creates a forum based fantasy hiring and firing spree, and a total reorganisation of the team from the various armchair experts; I guess it's a sign of the bar being raised sufficiently that being good but sometimes not quite good enough, is disappointing. That's what happens when you put the best squad in years out on the pitch.
If this carries on, we'll end up like Leeds or Wigan fans, with expectations so high, that everyone hates us.

Not been helped by tissue thin first line.
More of a concern is why we aren't getting the ball to Johnstone and Bishop, rather than them having to run it out to get noticed.'"
To be fair, despite both scoring well this year, we hardly do.

| Tom must have made his 93 Tackle Busts, 33 Clean Breaks and 266 Carries all from the base of the scrum. Likewise with Bish and his 38 Tackle Busts, 23 Clean Breaks, and 273 Carries. Both wingers feature heavily in the top 10 of must stats. Other teams must be really starving their wingers!!

How many times did we see TJ and BJB receive the ball whilst in their wing positions last Thursday?

Lies damn lies etc. You know as well as I that many of those figs are gained from dummy half runs / runs out of defence near our line. one of our main traits. Impressive stats yes, and I certainly wasn't being critical of TJ or BJB, the point being made was specifically regarding getting the ball out wide to them when in an attacking position.

Saints made sure the ball didn't reach our wingers, they were up and amongst our attack from the play the ball before you could shout offside.
