64 thousand $ question ( or £ 600,000 deficit question ) is why didn`t MC question the AG regime when they were part of the same board.

I have a feeling that a good percentage of these new posters are not WTW fans, however I do feel they are RL fans that may support & watch RL in a WF post code

Hr couldn't account for the extra 200k because it appears not to have been there.

Another "fan" coming on to question the motives and ability of a guy who has prevented the collapse of Wakefield Trinity.

1/ What more do you want/ expect from the bloke

2/ An accountant of a company can only advise the main board and suggest a different course of action. It is the accountants job to record income and expenditure, NOT to chose the way in which the business is run, they can only advise.



PLAYERS HAVE BEEN SOLD TO PREVENT THE CLUB GOING INTO ADMIN and to allow us to start and rebuild the club.

Although it's unpleasant, there is no alternative.

Surely all we need to know is that glover and elston wanted to put the club in admin and mc didn't. Had they got their way, loads of suppliers to the club would have been left out of pocket yet again and a lot more staff would have been affected. Add to this we would definitely be out of super league instead of having the chance to retain our place based on what the team do on the pitch and its difficult to see how anyone could question what MC has done, cos the alternative was a whole lot worse.



Finally, I would say that what he has done has probably earned the club a bit of goodwill back which was in very short supply under glover and elston. I would point to the fact that we still owe 100k but the people owed are allowing us time to pay up, as evidence of this.

The first job is obviously to get us out of the mess we are in.

Then we can hopefully progress from there.

MC has stated again he would welcome investment/expertise.

So far no one has come forward other than Kath Hetherington,and that is a paid job, not investment.

What do the critics want him to do?

Walk away?

If they are not careful they might force that.

Hmm.. perhaps some posters are not Trinity fans?

We would then be in a bigger hole.

Give him time.

Its only weeks since he took over.

I for one feel a little more optimistic and am prepared to at least wait and see what the next couple of months bring.

That's fair enough, and I think all decent-minded people would applaud you for choosing the path you've taken, for everyone's sake.



The worrying thing, as a fan on the outside looking in, is that we drew a line in the sand as far as the required capital investment was concerned, and have now had to draw another. You wonder - or I wonder - where it all ends? Or when? Perhaps, as El Rey has posted, the meeting with the fans will tie up a lot of lose ends.



I suppose I'm just dismayed that we've managed to get to the state we're in again in such a short period of time. You're in the unenviable position of having been associated with the previous regime, so it's understandable that as well as the thanks you receive for sticking with the club and toughing it out, you'll also have people wondering why this was allowed to happen in the first place, and questioning the extent of your involvement in it all.

I suspect that if we all used our real names instead of The Clan, AgendaXIII etc then (a) we wouldn't have all these new posters and (b) their motives in questioning MC wouldn't be a mystery.



As an Accountant you can only account for finances that you know about, if money's been spent that isn't represented in the paperwork then how on earth can you account for it and therefore how can you be expected to offer advice on reigning in the budget.



The new BoD have had their hands forced by the monetary situation and taken tough decisions in order to stabilise the club. They're seemingly being shot at by some because they're the name and face of the disappointment we feel and by others who clearly have a personal agenda but they're the wrong targets in my opinion.

The negative stuff on here is winding me up but it does have the effect of making me more determined to continue with my support of WTW. These people are so shortsighted and ungrateful it beggars belief.

If, hypothetically, there was another set of books not seen by the whole board, how could any accountant act on information he was not aware of?

Maybe the statements that no player was on 100K, when players themselves were talking in these terms, could be covered up in these hypothetical accounts !

This was the case at Melbourne, where it ran for years, only difference was the money was there to keep the illusion alive.

People who run businesses to make money will sometimes take every advantage they can, be it legal/grey/illegal, and keep the methods to themselves
