tim bresnan's made a very funny tweet on this.

I were a teacher for many years and it always amazed me how some children consistently said and wrote I were and we was.

One would think that if people have no idea which is correct they would be right 50 percent of the time.

But no, they consistently get the two the wrong way round.

I bet I have let myself in for some stick now.

i find richard agar's daft use of "us" instead of "our" hilarious. it makes him sound a lot thicker than he clearly is.

I'd be surpised if the majority of teachers would notice these days.

Irony?

I think a lot of it is down to the Yorkshire dialect, for example if I was writing in an exam or something, I would put "I was walking down the street with my friend" but in speech it would sound like "Ah were walkin darnt street wi mi friend"

Noticed on the Olympics highlights programme last night and if Yorkshire was an actual country taking part in the Olympics, Yorkshire would be 11th in the medal table in all events. Independence anyone?
