Long is interviewed about potters departure from saints on the sporting life website. however towards the end of the interview he has this to say about hull's recent run



'Long, 33, said: "It's been very frustrating just watching the lads not coming up with the performances we did at the start of the year.



"I know a lot of it is personnel but the lads that went out there didn't really aim up, so I've been pulling my hair out.



"It's been quite difficult to watch, so I'm glad I'm not watching anymore and I'm back out on the field.' (taken from sporting life)



so is it refreshing to see someone actually recognising that the players havent been performing and not just blaming the injuries, or is he just saying that without him we are rubbish and bigging up his own contribution?

It's probably just his opinion - not everyone has to have a secret agenda.

Is he talking about personnel missing or other areas?



I don't think he is bigging himself as he doesn't really need to do that.

Aiming up, where did i see that before?

Refreshingly honest as always, I heard he will play but he is not fully fit, needs must.

If he is not fully fit then it is a ridiculous decision to have him on the park. The game wont shape our season but Long taking another lengthy injury will.

I agree to an extent, there could be a few players playing with injections and so on.

I know we have players playing with injuries but Long's position is pivotal and we have no cover at all for it. Meley and Fitz who if playing will be two carrying knocks and niggles but even so we could still live without them.



Could it be the pressure from the fans is forcing his hand with long??

I doubt it, more likely pressure from Long himself.

long's injury is fine-but his actual fitness

At least Long has been pulling his hair out - it looked bloody stupid before.

That is the first really honest quote I've heard come out of our club for years, and I hope he includes Agar as one of 'the lads'! Well done Shaun, I hope you rattle a few cages.
