Seems we are re-negotiating our contract with the SMC on our tenancy agreement. Thought for years it's not been the best i.e. financially for us. But I might be wrong.



Just a thought but in long term will this possibly see offers on tickets cheaper etc? He wants it full!

Well I always thought we had reworked the deal but if we have not to any real advantage. The original 7500 was based on our average attendances at the Boulevard but now in a half decent season we can muster up nearly double that without too much hassle. So if we can arrange something that is better suited to us then all the better, like you say may even give us opportunities to boost crowds for the "Big" games like Wigan did with the "Big Four" campaign (It was the big something campaign at least).

The initial ground rent of 100k has been increasing by 6% per annum - so for 2012 will stand at about £169k. That 6% figure, by current standards, looks high. It could be argued that 100k was low initially, especially with the first 7.5k in the crowd going 'untaxed' and it was in some ways the equivalent of 'patient capital' - that patience steadily running out. I'd try and get that adjusted downwards if I was AP. Perhaps by offering a one-off jump. If it goes on forever at 6% it looks potentially problematic.

The 7.5k, based on Boulevard attendances, looked generous in 2003/4, but no longer does. It is the SMC's strongest card though and I can't see them giving it up easily. However, AP might be able to get a change, to say 25% of receipts above 3k, that would give him better flexibility.

Are we using the cap Rovers used, no because we are not asking for a "soft loan" we are looking at renegotiating a current deal. It may be a strange concept to you lot bit it happens all the time in business when circumstances change.

Average attendence maybe, but if we didnt get the record with the 1st derby game in Super League, then we wont beat it! What is it anyway??
