| Quote Bluenosewarrior="Bluenosewarrior"Our first try did look forward but those kind of passes are always touch and go for the ref. '"
Thing is mate some teams seem to regularly get the touch whilst others have to regularly settle for the go.

| We lost every 50/50 call last night . Could be wrong but did the ref give 1 forward pass in the game ?

| Quote smudgersmith="smudgersmith"Just looking at the squads from last night
Wigan only one missing from 1-13 (8. Lauaki)
Hull missing six, almost half the team (2,3,6,7,11 & 12) and I would guess those six are over 50% of our cap
Yet we gave Wigan a game, well done lads. With players coming back in over the next few weeks we need to remember nothing is won in Super League until 5th October...'"
Dont really agree with the players missing bit - Crookes is fit so is being kept out by Lineham. I think if Arundel was fit, Crooks would still be in before him. Seymour was dropped for Horne prior to his illness. So really we were only missing Holdsworth, Ellis and Tickle. Saying that, if we had them 3 i think we would have won. Bit more composure and organisation would have done it

| Superb effort last night, best display of the season by a distance. At 0-12 and 10-24 I thought we may have caved in mentally but we never and fought back well.
Refereeing was shocking, the decision to penalise Shannon was poor and their first try was forward. Also not sure on the Charnley try. Worst decision for me was the penlty for laying on to make it 20-26, it was the only penality he gave all night for laying on, disgraceful. Wigan slowed the ptb down all night and Lockers was never onside all match.
For me it was the night Crooks came of age. Created tries and made a few line breaks, should be the making of him and along with Lineham it looks a great partnership which will only be strengthened further when Ellis is out there with them.
Also though Pitts had his best game this season, his ability to spin and use footwork to get away from tacklers was excellent. Horne continued his impressive form too.

| Last night reminded me just why I love the mighty FC. What a performance against 14 men. Lets kick on from here.

| I thought it was a fine match with both teams playing slightly a different style of rugby.
In my opinion the match was somewhat spoilt for me by Richard Silverwood. He must know the rules but clearly for whatever reason either does not implement or is selective when similar offences occur, examples being forward passes, obsruction @ 'play the ball' & 'lying on'. Regarding certain tries being awarded that has been covered by others.
I am not hopeful that Peter Gentle will get anywhere with Steve Ganson but he must make his views known. ard

| Last night was a classic case of a ref being intimidated by a top of the table side.
Wigan are masters at sailing close to the wind within the laws of the game.Silverwood was scared stiff of giving a call in our favour late in the game.
Wigan a great side , they are good enough without help from the officials. The constant wingeing from Green and Tompkins was their attempt to control Silverwood and he fell for it.Maybe the game was too fast for him?
As for the touchjudges, what do they do ? Wigan were constantly offside in the defensive line . Also how many forward passes went unseen ?

The penalty against McDonnell was 100% correct as he made no attempt to clear the ruck and was wandering around like some surrendering Italian.

| It was a great advert for our game last night. Its a shame it wasn't a tv game. At times it felt like I was watching a wrestling match. We didn't get the 50/50 decisions. I rather have a game refereed like it was than a game with more penalties. Nearly 50 points scored. Got to give Wigan some credit for there lines they ran and there quickness of their passing.

| No reason why you can't get right in the mix for the two trophies when you get the big guns back. I thought you were very good last night and we were quite fortunate in some respects.
Bit rough having practically all your new players out - I knew Ellis and Holdsworth were missing but I don't think Arundel and Galea were there either were they?
Any idea when those four will be back?
