Horne as a pivot player should be at least talking to the team and directing play but we get nothing unless longy is next to him

He did look quite poor today, no poorer then half the side though.



However were constantly asking him to be the main organizer in the team and he just isn't, hes exceptional off the back of a good scrum half and looked very good at the start of the season when long was playing. Our problem is we have no one that can replace longy and not having any replacement what so ever for a 33 yo scrum half is just stupid.

He isn't a scrum half but he still should be doing more than he currently is. Don't think he'll be staying beyond his current deal.

He'd better not be... He's very average and has been for a long time!!



I'm not asking him to be an organiser... i'm asking for him to have a good kicking game for a stand-off.... He hasn't, He can't pass.... He always plays it behind the receiver which slows down the play, He's not that fast, and he can't tackle!! Coupled with the fact that he's one of our highest earners, i'd say get rid and sign someone else who 'can play on the back of a good SH' Ratchford can do that and he'd be much cheaper!!

He played at the same level as the majority of the rest of the team played. I'm sure the fickle fans on here will change there tune after horne and long can play together on the pitch for a few matches. If hes poor then, then i'll agree hes average. But i doubt he will be

Tansey and Whiting both superior full backs, although Tansey was awful today.



The thing with Horne, is that he has never had the ability to be a halfback. He would have made a great centre imo.

Not so sure I would use the word exceptional.

We had threads like this in the closed season. Then everyone ate humble pie when he had some good games. Now the vultures are circling again. What is it with FC fans? Our players are either world-beaters when they have a good game or not SL standard when they have a bad one. Is having a balanced point of view just too much effort?

Most of us said in February that this season depended on us getting Long on the pitch, which we've failed to do. That would enable Horne to play his own game at 6. It's a function of Agar's squad composition that we have a 33 year old SH (an acknowledged risk) with no cover in this position and therefore Horne has to do a job he's tried and failed to do for a couple of years. Horne had strapping on his elbow and leg and got an eye injury during the game as well. The frustration with him is his form is so up and down - as you say he was outstanding in some matches earlier in the season but aspects of his game today - kicking in particular - were really poor.
