The video refs should be able to look at incidents and relay a message to the ref to place a player on report. Regardless of how much time has passed since the incident. That way it forces the RFL to look at it and not hide behind the excuse that it wasn't seen by the ref.

Sky never gave it as much attention as they should have done imo, had it been a few other teams they would have replayed it and slowed it down. Similar to the Chase incident hardly a word about it!

To be fair to Sky, they rarely replay and discuss any contentious incident that may involve foul play, possibly because they don't want to be seen to be exerting any influence.

Yeah your probably right, mind I think it was Clarky who implied some-thing had upset Manu to react like he did and then they skimmed over it quickly and said oh dear no need for that or words to that effect.

I slowed it down and it does not look good, he appears to be clawing not once but twice, now he may argue that it was an accident but what the hell is his hand doing there.

And because they wouldn't have time after banging on about a forward pass decision for the whole of the post-match anslysis.

Gouging & biting are two of the most difficult offences to spot and from every angle but one, it looked for all the world than Manu was the instigator. Thankfully that one camera angle gave a very clear view of Ablett raking at Manu's face. Now Ablett may claim that he never intended to gouge but he cannot possibly deny that he had two goes at using his fingers on Manu's fizzog.



I once penalised a player for punching an opponent, he claimed he did it because the other guy had bitten his finger, my response was "what the hell were your fingers doing in his gob?"

Rod Studd even foisted the same question on Brian Mac and to be fair to the guy he didn't bite. It's like they were trying to make an excuse as to why Hull beat Leeds.
