| Quote Standee="Standee"well, we shall see, maybe.
But I was referring more to your comment that the NRL isn't that much better, it's streets ahead of SL.'"
It is, it's much better. It's just annoying when people overestimate the gap. It's not a league full of super-humans. I'll concede that Briscoe may be out of depth in an Origin game, but he'll slot right in in the NRL.
Also, I remember watching Best in the 2003/04 seasons and he never scored the individual tries, demonstrated the elusive running qualities that Briscoe has, or ever pulled off a tackle akin to the one in the corner against Fox in the dying seconds of a game. Best had one of our best EVER centres alongside him in Richie Barnett Snr putting things on a plate for him.

I disagree, totally, but that's what this place is about.
I hope Briscoe has a great season for FC, if he moves on after that, good luck to him, but I wont care if he succeeds or fails.

| TB is the best defensively IMO, and will get even better.
Raynor on fire was the best attacking in my opinion, but all round Best takes some beating.
Having said that in 5 years when TB comes back to FC from Oz, he will be better than all 3 put together.
And he will come back as surely FC can negotiate first refusal? Or maybe not if his contract ends? I would like to think TB might do that for us either way?
To many questions for a first post I've confused myself.....

No, there'll be no first refusal for Hull should Briscoe go to Australia.
On the original point, I'd agree with the majority, Colin has been the Best winger in the SL era at Hull FC.

| He is a good winger, with moments of class, but they are not consistent enough to be compared to Colin Best at the moment.
You could watch any match back from when Best was here (barring London at home in his 2nd match) and he did something that made you say 'wow'

| Briscoe is good and some of the stuff he pulls off is incredible but Colin Best is ahead of him. Hands like dinner plates...

| Listening to Humberside sport this morning I thought Gollum sounds in a good mood, I wonder if Pop Larvins money has gone through. Then he announced Tom is set to sign for Cronulla

| Was big fan of Raynor, and Best was obviously quality, but I see Tom Briscoe as real quality as well. Strong, fast, powerful running and defending, and the ability to make something out of nothing. And he's still only 22. I feel he would go down well in the NRL and I wish him all the success he deserves.
