the 3d was full of vitriolic abuse, and I can't say that I really miss it, at the time it was what we did as RL fans, we've all (with some exceptions) grown up since those times, and the world has changed.
Briscoe, from what I have seen/heard got a bit of what I'd call "ribbing", a chant of "replaced by a bin man, replaced by a biiiin man, you were replaced by a bin man" would have been much more hurtful.
To which he'd have replied "I earn 80 grand(+), I earn 80 grand, you daft sods in Black and White, I earn 80 grand(+)"
that is banter, not abuse.
"Tex Evans, tex the pi55 more like" and other classics from a by gone era!'"
Could have said I've got a cup winners medal....that would have shut em all up |

During the game Ryan Hall got a bit of stick about being fat (no I dont understand that bit either) but saw the funny side and laughed and clapped the East stand who clapped him back. At the end of the match Briscoe was walking over to the Leeds fans and started applauding the east stand and he got a great reception back.
What's the problem?

McDermott was probably finding something he could appease his own fans with. As we know the South Stand at Headingley is the yardstick moral compass. |

Agreed with this. Some of the stick Schofield got was pure venom.
Briscoe got some booing, hardly enough to warrant a comment.
If McDermott wants to comment about the class of Leeds fans, I'd be interested to know his comments on the signing from the Southstand about referees / visiting fans.  |

Absolutely.
On the Briscoe front I wouldn't say it was abuse, more just banter. I agree that we have gone far too soft and need to make the KC a bad place to come for opposition players, plus it might make them think twice about leaving. |
