Then maybe he should be a bit more specific in his criticism. Or better yet just ignore it as part and parcel of the job he decided he wanted. After all, he's had direct experience of what happens to more than one failing coach during his tenure at our club. If he can't stand the heat the solution is pretty obvious.

Emotions were running high. He was under an immense amount of pressure going into the game, and has beaten the champions away against the odds. He probably didn't think too much about what he was saying, heat of the moment stuff. It was a little unprofessional, but not really worth dissecting & analysing too much

I tend to agree, and I discounted it as such the first time I heard it. Was always bound to trigger a backlash though.

Easy said from this distance. I don't mind a bit of passion in the job personally. Not that it makes him a good coach of course.

Well thanks Lee. I'm pleased that you thanked the hard-core supporters. You know the ones, those who can afford the time and money to go to away matches. There are many of us who save up for our season tickets but can't afford to travel every other week but are nontheless as passionate about the club. Maybe a little thought before opening your mouth would have been a better option.

Well done to the boys on the win, but we need lots more of them.

I'm not putting myself forward as someone suited to coach a pro sports club. He is. There lies the difference.





Passion is good. In it's place. Personally I like a coach with at least a touch of professionalism about him. One that knows how to think for a split second before opening his mouth, maybe.

I suppose if you were one of the fans there today you'd agree with him, maybe.

I wasn't but I'm determined not to take it too personally.

His comment wasn't aimed at fans who weren't there today. In fact it's difficult to tell who it was aimed at. And I never agree with a coach - or a player for that matter - criticising the fans for normal fan behaviour. It's unprofessional and always ill-advised. Having said that I wouldn't even be talking about it if people weren't either being outraged by or trying to defend what was said.



Anyway - good win today and Palace beat Man City so I'm a happy camper tonight.
