On sky tonnight it said that it was changing due to the tall ships coming into hull on Saturday and Hull not being able to cope with 2 Major events so close together? WTF?!?
This smacks of Sky placing the blame somewhere else.

No it doesn't, it's the truth.
When the Clipper launched last year the city saw 200,000 people visit. We can't say how many will come to see it return but if it's anything near that figure then the police simply can't cope with both events.
You can blame Sky all you like but leaving it so late in the day is probably the only thing they can be blamed for. Humberside Police have said no to the Derby taking place on the Saturday and no one else.

I know that but there's also events happening that weekend, not to the extent of the FF but as no one can predict the numbers then it's better to be safe surely??
Would mean the police would insist we were the Friday game. |

The reason they have changed it to a Thursday is so obvious
Sky show national League games on a Thursday however every Club in Championship & Championship 1 will be competing in the Northern Rail 9's on the Saturday.
so sky are just filling their schedule
