Giants now play with a smaller ball playing 13 so it is more important that the 9 can defend. also the way we play needs a 9 who can deliver a faster, longer and more accurate pass to 1st receiver. On all those counts Moore > Lunt. Lunt's defence this year in 1st team and 20s has been disappointing. Plus Robbo can comfortably do 60 / 65 mins and Lunt wanted more game time than 15 / 20 mins.



Better for the Giants and better for Lunt. Win win.

No, he has said on twitter this afternoon that his future is not sorted yet so can not comment on any rumours.

Lunt has had his own issues this year and was dropped as disciplinary-due to tommy lees good form he hasn't made it back in the squad- and he hasn't hit the form before his injury- loan out Lunt on a massive wage get Moore in on a much lower wage and free up cap money to sign Eden and fairbank on longer term deals so Nathan brown can't poach them for saints.

Well I'm in shock, where did that come from?

I thought a player went on the salary cap once he was registered to the squad. He's been getting paid since october so i just assumed his money would already be part of the cap

Technically his salary only counts on the cap once he's played a salary cap relevant game. A pre-season friendly doesn't count, so theoretically his salary hasn't gone against our cap limit yet. The problem is that as soon as he plays one cap relevant game his salary counts in full even if that's the only game he plays all season, so we can't use the money elsewhere as it's 'spoken for' so to speak.
