| Quote kt170496="kt170496"I feel for people in work or trying to get work this day and age .I was lucky in my working days there was plenty of work and you could change your job like changing a shirt .I now tell people I am glad my working days are over .It must be heartbreaking to be out of work and a family to keep ..Saying sorry doesn't help when you have bills to pay If anybody is out of work I hope you are lucky and get back into employment ..Best of luck , =#4040FFPeople who are 60/65 should be made to retire to make way for younger people to do that job .After 50 years or more of working that should be enough for anybody you have done your bit'"
Unfortunately the government and company pension schemes are making even the choice of early retirement a thing of the past, for normal working folk.

| So it's the unions Fault now people have a choice to join a Union
But the Coalition with all they cuts walk away Scot free
These people were warned about what would happen if the cuts
were brought in.A decade of skilled workers will be lost
But the rich get richer and the poor get sh-- kick out of them
Voting Tory = they look after they own and the other lot have help them
The blame lay with this Government Jobs Crime Education Health the lot
The poor Families hit hardest by Coalition

| No surprise that they're uncompetitive in the world market. I know 3 people who used to work there who all ran their own businesses alongside full time jobs and my sister in law works there and spends most of her time ringing her family and friends up whilst she's at "work". Unfortunately, it's a sad indictment on the state of the British manufacturing industry when only the Japanese can make the British workers productive enough

Strangely enough in other European countries like France & Germany, they have still retained an indigenous manufacturing base. Both countries have heavily unionised workforces but they also have worker councils and workforce recognition at board level. The workers know what is happening in the organisation, they are aware of competition and what is required to be more competitive. Rather than the top-down diktat that is typical of British management, it is quite often the workers themselves who find a solution to problems.

Nice little soundbite, was it all your own work or did you copy it from a letter in The Daily Wail?

I don't read shat like that, just have plenty of experience of employing lazy SOB's who rather take the pish than do a decent day's work. I blame the unions but doubt a leftie like yourself would agree

The unions have all but been emasculated since 1980, how can you blame them for what's happened over the last generation?
