| Heard a strong rumour the new sponspor for SL next season will also be our shirt sponsor next season. Also ISC will not be the kit supplier next season it will be Nike it will be their first foray into Rugby League gear.
Dobson is seemingly quite a possibility I am led to believe and Horney possibility he may join his brother at Rovers or retire.
How much truth is in the above I'm not sure but from where I heard it from its not often they give much info but when they do its pretty accurate.

| Quote Houghtons Heroes="Houghtons Heroes"I didn't say Dobson was the worst defender in SL, just a terrible one. He often goes missing and as evidenced on Friday night, is prepared to shout at people for missing tackles.
No thank you. Would rather keep Goldie, he's an awful kicker but defensively sound and knows how to open a defence.
Our problem is that when we get into an opponents 20, we are feckin' clueless. We need someone with a touch of magic to do that.
Oh, and in defence of Longy, he was only ever a great scrum half when paired with Tommy Martyn.'"
I struggle to assimilate our lack of cutting edge in the opponents' 20 with McGoldrick knowing how to open a defence consistently enough. He is not good enough to be a first choice halfback in a team who want to win things, and to think he's better than Dobson because he can make a few tackles is madness IMO.
Also, Long was excellent with Pryce, too.

I heard that over the weekend too from a good mate of G Horne who drinks in Hastings pub!!
by all accounts R Horne has been dangled a coaching carrot by rovers for after next season too???
Hope this isnt true and we get another year from him as he would be cracking cover for so many areas....

| Quote Bet Lynch="Bet Lynch"I don't disagree and I think they both offer a lot in that department and I would not be disappointed with either, however if I personally had the choice of either I would choose Dobson, for me he offers a more rounded game with his kicking ability, his try assists are actually above Chase at them minute but nothing in so both offer what we need in that dept.'"
One stat that makes a difference...... Chase was MOS because he is special in many areas over many games Dobbo whilst still a cracking player i would love to see at the KC is and has been no where near MOS!!
Chase has been a high shot merchant agreed however also he would add even more grunt to a team lacking in nasty ferkers..... Goldie, Omeley, Chase, whiting... many would think twice before running at those four who all hit very hard when required...
Chase & Holdsworth for me with Horne as back up will do nice

Wigan 1998
Widnes 2008
Catalans 2009
Not to mention Brisbane are currently and have been supplied by Nike since 1997, as have a number of other NRL teams (such as Canterbury). I think even Gateshead used to have a Nike shirt a few years ago!
Definitely not a first!

| i honestly dont think Nike will take over from ISC. Wasnt it a few years ago that we opened the design of our shirts up to other manufacturers and Nike came back with a Red + White away shirt!?

Like I said thats my fault as I couldn't think of anyone who'd had shirts done by Nike although with Whelan as Wigans owner I'd be more suprised if they hadn't due to his contacts with the major brands through JJB. Was just very suprised when I was told Nike as they aren't really associated or well known for Rugby League gear as far as I am aware.
