Nicklas looked better than Ellis at York,and must surely be pushing Horne for the 6 position??? His kicking game at York was bang on.

Although I wasn't particularly impressed with Horne last Sunday, he was certainly no worse than Seymour. Other than his defense, I thought Seymour looked poor in all other aspects. The only difference is we can judge what Horne is capable of doing, and how often he does it. If we was picking purely based on last weeks performance, I'd start Ellis AND Nicklas!

Playing against Fev and York is a little different to playing a Hull derby.



I have no doubt Horne would have been a stand out player had he played against Fev and York.

I don't think it would count on a 'pre season friendly'

Only just realised that Ellis isn't in ! It seems a little strange that he's only going to have a meaningless 5 minutes against SL opposition in order to show what he can do.

The plan was for Ellis to get longer then 6 minutes but the sheer weight of posession in Rovers favour meant that the Horne - Seymour partnership didnt get as much opportunity as we had hoped hence they stayed on for longer.



A victim of circumstance but will get his chance soon I reckon.

It would appear Horne and Seymour are first choice at this stage. I would suspect that the coach wants those two to have as much game time as possible (just the 80 minutes so far) to show what they can do. If either doesn't match up I'm sure Nicklas and Ellis will be in the frame. Very few teams will play their back up halves in their last friendlies.

Yes I agree with that and it is of course correct for Gentle to do that. However, I'm really hoping that one of Ellis or Nicklas makes it impossible for Gentle not to pick him because I really don't see us as a top four side with Horne as a permanent fixture.



It might seem a little harsh, he has been fantastic for Hull over the years, but I just don't think that he can perform consistently at the highest level anymore ,if at all.
