Look we have plenty to moan about ATM. There's some like me who try to paint a positive picture regardless. Some infact most who praise us when we are good and complain rightly when we are crap. Then there's those who don't say nothing when we win but lose and it's post after post after post whining.

When was the last decent win though? Saints at home June last year? The away derby last July? Thats that last I can remember us beating the odds to win a game

We won and it's still post after post after post.

Many of us, me included except our budget may not what it should be but cannot except how poor we actually are.



Recruitment not so good so far. Okunbor - jury still out but offers nothing currently a youngster wouldn't.

Nu Brown- a quality international hooker but a poor substitute for a SH.

Persisting in playing Houghton for 80 minutes.



Slow line speed.

No pressure on the kickers.

Poor attacking structure and shocking ill discipline.



The above is directly Smith's responsibility in which money has no bearing on.

That is his job to improve all of the above but I see no improvement whatsoever.

We are boring and dull and very fragile.

As always I try to offer a balance of opinion to the more vocalists on here.

As previously stated we have sat in the stands a big bulk of our salary cap players..

Tony Smith has won more and has more man management experience than everyone on here.

Balmforth I do believe is still carrying an injury issue.

Whilst I’m not convinced yet in Pele,

Ese Ese and Truman. They should and could well provide much more go forward than we currently have.

If that Jack Walker pass hadn’t been given as forward , we’d have gone on to win comfortably.

It was a makeshift team out there with a lot of pressure on the players to win.

I watched the world beaters get beat at a depleted Salford.

Like I keep saying there’s not a great standard out there at the moment.

It’s early days.

Main thing is we have points on the board.

Dan Tomlinson had Lane as one of our better performers. Still what does he and smith and even me know.

I don’t disagree that the rebuild is a huge task and doubt many others would however what does concern me is that irrespective of budget, line speed, discipline, on field organisation etc isn’t something that should be affected by budgets large or small.



Smith with all his experience and coaching pedigree has been in charge long enough to have made some form of impression/improvement and given us an identity. Yet we have seen little if any improvement in so many facets of the game since he replaced Hodgson.



We yet again were the engineers of our own downfall and almost did everything we could to give the game away and in the end got out of jail somehow.



To say no other coach could do more with this squad and budget is questionable as I dare say Rowley and Salfiord are an example of a team that has a limited budget and again lost key onfield personnel yet still look an organised snd well coached team.



Whilst there’s mitigating circumstances with the loss of players in bans and injuries that’s not an excuse for the same failings we see that even after a large degree of player turnover since last season.

I’m not saying TS should be sacked but think it’s fair that fans question things under his tenure based on the evidence so far.
