Its not really the original badge unless the bridge is older than I thought.
The one on JW's shirt looks fine.
On the topic of the 150th anniversary, I hope we have a proper black and white hooped shirt like the JW pic for home AND away (changing shorts colour to avoid any clash), plus a real retro shirt for one game (with 1-17 sanctioned by the RFL) and no sponsorship, then maybe a further one for Magic Weekend (plus new shirts for CC final and GF  ) |

When the two clubs merged the original shirt was black with a blue and gold badge. There was a temporary move to cherry and white stripes but this was ditched as the colours ran when the shirts were washed. We were known as the "All Blacks" around the late 1880s (around the same time as the original New Zealand team were first called that). The black shirts remained until around 1908 when the irregular hoops were first introduced. |

Interesting stuff. I have a photo of Hull FC form their first season in the Northern Union in 1895 when they moved to Boulevard and they had black shirts, white shorts. |
