Gentle was released because he hadn't made [ienough[/i progress, not because he was worse than Agar. Consistency was his downfall. |

Utter garbage. If PROGRESS was the reason, he'd have gone before Wembley as rumoured. It was only the Daily Star that kept him in the role up to then. That's clear.

I am a Staunch Hull Supporter but I agree - a very strange thing to say. I do know that O'Meley was not a popular figure with PG so we obviously had lots of cliques !!! |

Cliques will always happen no matter what and it isn't surprising that the Aussies in the team had a clique as they will have had plenty in common. There will also have been other cliques in the squad.
The job of a coach and his staff is to make sure those cliques are not disruptive or affecting team spirit.

I think that's an urban myth. I don't think gentle was a very good coach. If he was he would have been capable of adapting his style and getting the best out of the players at his disposal |
