I don't think anyone is criticising Webster as an individual, just the shambolic situation, we sign him, he plays one game, is deemed surplous to requirements, we get an assistant in, initial signs are good, something happens, performances drop (long before the increased injury situation), assistan leaves "for personal reasons" (but not that personal that he doesn't go on holiday first), we then bring back someone who, previously, was not in the clubs plans.



I think people are just annoyed at what, from the outside, looks like another cheap option.

The whole situation with Webster when we signed him as a player was a complete joke I agree. I'm not sure how bringing him as an assistant coach now is a cheap option though. What other clubs in SL have an expensive assistant coach? I think people are more annoyed at the continued presence of Agar and that is clouding peoples judgement over this appointment. If we had a top class head coach in place the appointment of Webster would probably be welcomed.

I wish Webster all the best and hope he does well, but I imagine he got the gig on how many times he is happy to say "yes boss" or "I agree boss" rather than his coaching ability.

You could well have a point, I can just see season pass numbers dropping off quite a bit next year, a potential VAT rise is going to increase the cost of passes and getting to and from games as it is, without something to attract fans (and lets face it, 5 drives and a kick isn't going to cut it) then FC are competing for an ever decreasingly available £ from peoples pocket.

I agree but I dont think any assistant coach was ever going to help with that situation. Its the man at the top that is the problem. Who knows we may turn it around and have a really good second half of the season, not holding my breath though.

4 assistant coaches of the top of my head who could be described as "cheap options"



In reality no club is gonna bust the bank for an assistant so for us to sign a very promising young coach who's already based in the city is a good move imo.

Now list next to them the head coaches and you will realise that the assistants don't need a great deal of experience. Our coaching set-up is cheap as a whole not just in regard to the assistant



When Wire realised that James Lowes couldn't cut it they went out and paid good money for a top coach. Agar and Webster is a combination similar to Lowes and Webster because Agar is an assistant at best and needs replacing with a Top Coach which this club should have based on its revenue

Agar has a lot more first grade experience as a coach than Mcguire of Wigan.



I know which coach I would rather have.
