If SKY put my subscription up and I didn't want to pay the increase then I'd cancel, not post some rambling whinge on an internet forum about how greedy rupert murdoch is. Likewise, when they have some pay per view event I only subscribe if it's something I want to watch and I feel offers good value. I don't go running around whining to anyone who listens



I face purchasing decisions every day of my life and accept there are some things I feel are good value and some I don't so I either buy or don't bother.



And as he's already said he will lose money on he's laid out then I doubt he's just using it to make money. Even if he was, do you see profitability as an unacceptable face of capitalism?

I can work it our for myself thanks, I was having a discussion about what my views are, these views were then taken on by other users and offensive remarks were made. I responded with a civil response and ended it with a shortened term of hope that helps. Then a mod stepped in trying to be sanctimonious. Is that about right ?

Not really, I made several civilised and thought through comments, you responded with childish reponses. Maybe you could do what I do, when people make comments I don't agree with, I either don't respond or try to put my opinion accross in a well thought and sensible response. I haven't particularly seen anyone else "whining" about this matter, either. This forum is here for discussion, and if a business owner chooses to use a thread for free advertising, he can expect that people will express opinions about the value for money he's offering.







He might well say that, but I don't believe it. As I said in an earlier post, he's not going to bin the satellite equipment after one game, he'll be able to use it for other events in the future. Add in the increased bar takings plus £4 a head on the door, and I reckon he'll be more than OK.



And I don't see profit as unacceptable - that would be ridiculous - but I do see £4/5 a head to get into a pub as being excessive. He is obviously entitled to charge that much, and will quite possibly sell out. I'm just saying that [ipersonally[/i, I think it's a lot to pay to get into a pub to see a televised sports match.
