Does anyone have any evidence that a player has ever turned down the club because of Hull's reputation as a sheet hole?

Didn't Menzies say it put him off because he found out it was the worse place in England to live , not certain but thought he said it

So he moved to bradford instead

I do think Hull is a pretty good place there is not a lot here or a lot of money invested in facilities and the city centre is pretty dull. But as people have rightly said, places with a higher reputation that ours all have their bad areas and I think I'm right in saying their scummy areas are a lot worse than ours. We must have the lowest gun crime in Britain?



I think why people like Hull is (and why we do) is that the people are pretty much the nicest you'll find anywhere and players must notice this. The Fuss a aussie international would generate in Hull would be imense! In Manchester or Liverpool? hardly a mention I'd bet, in papers full of football nonsense.

If anybody fancies seeing Sydney in a worse light, may I reccomend a trip out to Rooty Hill RSL, or go ask for directions in Cabramatta or even to Panthers!



Can the city council not stop camera crews from going to the worst areas of our city and tarnishing everybody's impression of it, and also ban any residents from talking to press unless they have a) a full set of teeth b) basic command of the english language c) Not in receipt of benefits.

I'm not from hull and I'm sorry but I seen far far worse areas in my lifetime. Iv enjoyed my time there and even on an all day boys day away it was spot on. Spoke to alot of fans FC and rovers and nothing bad to say.. every area has theirs but hull is nowhere near the worst. It's still just a matter of opinion in the end

I don't see what's confusing about that. I don't understand why you are comparing the reaction to the signing of an Aussie in Hull to that in Manchester and Liverpool.

We clearly knew we had a problem persuading worldly wise players from all over the UK and the other side of the planet to come to Hull and recognised the need to bring in someone to really articulate all of the great things about us great city
