I quite enjoyed the game, mind you I'm only used to the non promotion league, in which the standard of rugby is pathetic.

Sign of things to come?

In all honesty Widnes looked really up for it early on and were the better side in the first half but all the pressure they did not have anyone to unlock the wakey defence. Second half they were poor and shaky wakeys superior fitness and desire shone through

Widnes shouldn't be too disheartened after that - there were good signs. The most worrying thing, to me, was the 'pass and hope' strategy in the last 20m of the Wakey half. Wakey looked very well organised in that area, by comparison. That'll hopefully change once you get the halves sorted out.

Rugby league is a simple game.No half decent scrum half,no chance.
