He's signed up for the 2013 season, does that mean he can't play in the 2012 season for us?

Because if it does,and he is a Fev player NOW, it stinks, and I will be an ex-Donny supporter.

That's a fair point but I doubt Tony Miller would pick him given the circumstances. Can't say I would either.



Look at it from Fev's point of view. Would you want a signing of yours to risk an injury which could potentially prevent him from fulfilling his contract?



I agree it would be nice to see Tom go out with a bang, but bearing in mind he is not match-fit, and his impending departure, I don't think it's worth the risk.

Someone very close to him said he was match fit and raring to go for the Dons.

Only last Friday in fact.



I am not slightly interested in Fev's view.

They have either signed him with immediate effect in which case he's history, or they have signed him for next season in which case they can't restrict what he does until then.



So, I will ask the question again of those in the know ... which is it?

I think last week was more of a 'not wanting to change a winning side' decision.. I don't know anything otherwise.

Yes and I can understand that philosophy, it happens to be mine as well.

But now we are a losing side and things have changed, not least with the loss of an influential half back and half decent kicker.



I feel like I am labouring here under a misapprehension, that of thinking that Tom Hodson is available to help us get through to the final and then perhaps win it, when in fact he could be sitting somewhere,feet up, an ex-Donny player.

There is a transfer deadline for the current season which means that players cannot swap clubs at this time fo the year. Agreeing a contract for next season means the player can only actually sign once their current contract expires.



It was reported in The Star that Tom would be in line to play (and kick goals) this weekend in the Workington game.



I suspect that Tony Miller hasn't wanted to change a winning team to allow Tom back in, which could also have been one of the reasons Deano left, but now we've got to make changes due to Paul Cooke being out.



I hope the crowd get behind Tom on Sunday as he's played a very big part in our success this season.
