I think it looks crap.

Vast improvement, but even in the trailer i can see some unslick gameplay animations.



But as usual, it will be purchased.

The 10 season mode sounds good, I like the idea of after the 10 years been able to take the team you built online and play against other peoples teams.

You can take any team you create online, you can in a sense "steal" other people's teams and players too

!

Apparently they've sorted the passing out too, with a choice of flat pass or deep pass.



So annoying in RLL making a break then passing to a team mate who stops dead in his tracks. I fail to see how the last game got past the testing stage, then charge £50 for it!

Yeah, the last one was a bit dire to say the least. The lack of franchise mode didn't bother me and the game was very playable, there were just too many minor bugs that made the game that difficult to carry on playing.



Think I will be importing this for my xbox and see how it goes. Just want to play a decent RL game, we've not had one since RL2 which was in 2005!

There is a new gameplay trailer doing the rounds. It looks 100 times better than the previous effort. Seems to have used a similar engine to Rugby Challenge, certainly looks a lot smoother.



Release date has been set for 11th october in aus and nz, not sure when it will be here.

If you can't wait for it to be released in the UK you can buy it from JB-HiFi. Australia and the UK use the same region codes so it is compatible and it's only $87.76 and thats including international postage.

Just spent the day playing it. It is a hell of a lot better than the last effort, but it is still far from perfect.



The controls have changed completely and it will take a bit of getting used too. Interceptions happen far to often and generally, whilst the graphics are smoother the gameplay is better, but it is over complicated I think.



Kicking is also a lot harder, to do a punt you need to press 2 buttons instead of just one. which again will take some getting used too.



Player likenesses, the NRL players are quite well detailed but the superleague players arent as good. There are only 3 international teams which is poor, ENG NZ and AUS, representative teams like State of origin and Exiles are there though. also theres a lot of teams like toyota cup championship 1 and 2.

Overall so far I like it, it's a definite improvement and not just the same game with roster updates which i was part expecting.However It's going to take some getting used to.
