Quote Easty="Easty"We've still got funding according to the articles. Problem alledgedly was that the company who originally won the tender went into financial strife. The whole tendering process then had to start again. Be nice if some1 could confirm the above.'"
Here is what has been reported in the last few months:
November 2010: HDM "Council give go-ahead to £6.5m North Stand. It is believed that the new stand will be ready in time for the beginning of the 2012 Super League season."
February 2011: Mike Smith The scheduled plan is to start the north stand in June.We expect to hear an answer on the ERDF money by the end of March and the start of April."
May 2011: Neil Hudgell: "Things are moving on apace with the North Stand and although nothing is yet signed off we remain timetabled to dismantle the golf stand after the derby and begin building shortly after."
August 2011: Mike Smith "This delay will not impact the clubs original goal and plans of being ready for the start of the 2013 Super League season."
Putting aside the rather confusing statement by Mike Smith about the club's original goal being 2013, there doesn't appear to be anything new information at all in the council saying they remain committed to the project. This council funding was in place last November. It's the ERDF funding, referenced as being decided "by the start of April" that's not been confirmed as far as I can see. From memory it was not in place in June when administration moved from Yorkshire Forward to another body, but perhaps it has been signed off now.
