Quote rebelrobin="rebelrobin"was wondering if roopy can give us a low down on chris sandow from paramatta, also i heard today and if people believe me or not it is upto them. that mike smith went over to aus to sign chris sandow and paramatta paid a percentage of his wage for a year. also travis burns will be announced this week that he is leaving for saints.and apparently we have four more players signing it is chris sandow, tommy lee, but don't know the other two yet but i would of liked to see carney in a kr shirt but, kr being sensible and signing players without baggage for a change.. i know one who isn't signing and that is gareth hock the same guy told me kris keating wont be at kr next season and they have lined up a replacement already so it is all i have heard we will just have to wait and see what unfolds in the coming weeks and see how much is true'"
Sandow's main off field issue seems to be a gambolling addiction that has seen him waste most of the big money he has earnt from playing. He has a bit of depression associated with that, as well as family issues.
His defence is a bit suspect. His missed tackle count is usually pretty high.
In attack he is very involved and has a lot of X factor and individual brilliance.
If you end up with a Sandow/Burns halves partnership, they both come from the same region of outback Queensland, so they could share their Slim Dusty records and talk about Bull riding and pig shooting together.
As a player he has been in and out of favour with various coaches over time. Some love the X factor he gives in attack that leads to a lot of good tries, but any coach trying to put together a strong defence gets sick of the way he gets targeted and misses a lot of tackles.
He also falls out with coaches over his form, which can be very hot and cold, influenced by his off field issues I think.
At his best he is a better version of Scotty Dureau. He can put something on in the blink of an eye at any time.
