We were the best team in the comp in 2016 up until wembley after which we won only 1 of 4 league games and lost away at wigan in the play offs. We fell off a cliff after wembley and it undoubtedly cost us a GF spot and likely a win. Last year we were bang average for most of the year but were only beaten by the eventual comp winners by virtue of a missed conversion.
In both years we showed we could beat every other decent side in the competition in knock out rugby but the CC wins in both years meant we didn't have enough left in the tank for the league. I don't expect a rovers fan to agree but we were head and shoulder the best side in SL in 2016 and good enough to win it in 2017 |

Winning the cup in the last 2 years was amazing but the cup runs likely cost us 2 grand final spots and maybe even a couple of wins'" you've even got an excuse for chocking, how does a Wembley win stop you winning a grand final, confidence is high ,tails up and all that,given the injury free season you had and opposition at the time, and the team you had, big chance blown imo, your coach wasn't up to it, he went for bargover billy tactics, instead of rugby just like he played, may win you a knockout cup but not a grand final so blame your coach not a cup win |
