| Quote Zebra="Zebra"Why does the game being played on a Thursday affect anything? What are people doing on Thursday which stop s them going yet they can on a Friday?
Wigan v Warrington was altered at the same time as the FC vRovers game. Yet they got 22,700 (in a town of 90,000) compared to the 20,079 at the biggest derby in the universe and everywhere else.
Is it only Hull rugby fans who can't alter arrangements with 2 weeks notice? Everyone else in rugby, and football, seem to manage.'"
Well I'm not going to suggest they is a reason for the large majority who did not turn up but I was hazard a guess and say work ?
I work in a bookies and am required to work any day of the week upto 9:30pm at night. I only get two days off and I can never guarntee what days they will be. I had obviousley requested the derby off which my manager said was fine and when the game was moved he did pull some struings so I could switch my day off to the Thursday, but not all managers are like. What you have to take into consideration is everyone is different, so if somebody has work the next day and there doing shift work starting early hours of morning unless they are a die hard there not going to go to the game when they can watch it at home on TV then go off to bed.
All the Rugby die hards in the city was there, its just the extras the derby usually attracts were probably affected by the move.

Would suggest maybe the none performance at Wakey put a few off?
Lets be honest, a fair few of us couldn`t see past a Rovers win.

| Quote Barnacle Bill="Barnacle Bill"You do, and it's a good stadium, but watching the game from the West stand upper did remind me of that old Sega Megadrive game Sensible Soccer...

Cracking game that but on the Amiga not the mega drive.
As for the crowd it was a decent turnout considering the switch to thrusday. Atmosphere itself was good and only the 3rd time this season we have had a cracking atmosphere at the KC as far as i am concerned.

When you say moved, you mean they moved it from Wigan's normal Friday night slot and put it on a Friday night?
I can see the inconvenience would put a lot off!

| Quote Mild mannered Janitor="Mild mannered Janitor"Do you actually beleive that only 600 Hull FC fans were at last yeats CP derby?
If so, you are blind / stupid or both.
Hull sold 600 tickets, many paid on the day.
The major difference is, you actually get to see the game at the KC
'"
You can see the game at Craven Park unless your blind / stupid or both. Probably why so many of your monochrome mates gave it a miss!

| Six thousand away fans at a derby compared to six hundred is bound to create a better atmosphere.
Even a duller can understand this concept
