Think you're being harsh. Wigan can take any team apart when they get into gear, Rovers without McDonnell, Welham, Green, Clinton? Young players did well, and will learn about closing a game out. And to challenge Wigan so closely in a game most expected a 50 point margin to the visitors is impressive IMO.



The bit I'd be more worried about is home form. Is that 6 reverses on the bounce?

We had a good go but ran out of steam against the league champions with a patched up team aswell, credit to Wigan but as a Rovers fan I have to ask why we don't seem to see that much effort every week.

funny how fc played yesterday and the 100,000 dobbins fans are leaving, travelling home, too ed off after losing the game from that margin.

The fact we have been pushing teams close offers, if not consolation, at least some indication that we aren't miles away - we just can't get over the line, which is a worry. We're not, as form might suggest the worst team in SL - on the other hand when we won 6 from 7 and we were never that good either. We're 10th this year pretty much guaranteed (I think), and that is, overall, a fair reflection - as it generally is.



Injuries hamper you, but all teams have them. Sandercock's first season has maybe been worse than any of Morgan's from that POV, so I hope nobody is calling for his head yet. Realistically though, if things don't pick up in the first 10-15 games of next season, he won't get a new deal. Hopefully, from our POV, this has been a bottoming out.

The one strange positive for him is that expectations will be lowered to distinctly realistic levels for 2013 - he just has to be damn sure we reach them.



New north stand, Disco Dave's dash and a few promising debuts - apart from that, our sixth SL season can get stuffed for me. Bring on 2013.

edit: Doing the double over Huddersfield was nice too.



Hope Galea, Webster, Murrell and the others still got a hand despite the disappointment, but.

A few basic errors cost Rovers the game today and the fact that Wigan had proven matchwinners in their team. Rovers were more than a match for tem for 65 minutes but seemed to just run out of petrol and were hanging on for that last 15 minutes it was just a matter of weather Wigan could score enough to overhall Rovers lead, they did, just and were worthy winners in the end.

They did, Murrell was speachless with the reception he got. Credit must also go to Craig Sandercock who went into the East Stand after the game to talk to the fans and have photos taken with them.

Reminds me of the thread on the FC board after the Widnes game the other week...
