Great win again down in Sheffield. Attack top notch but the defence should be better. But again excellent win not just to win, but deny Sheffield the Bonus Point. Quitely confident we can get to the Final. Fev struggled against Sheffield and today against Batley. Barrow we have beaten home and away. We should have too much fire power for Widnes, Sheffield or Leigh. Will be tough but no reason why Fax cant get to the final. Then its just 80 minutes and we can win that too. Come on Fax you can do it.

How did Rudd play?

Went off seeing stars apparently.

Thought Rudd had a solid start, put two massive hits on the Sheff lot. Would like to see him in the squad again soon.



I don't know what was with Fax today though, two seconds slow with their reactions today, catching, tackling, passing the lot. Thought Penky did a good job of sorting us out though, against a strong Sheff side. But we need to switch on and certainly for next week. But well done Fax.

Sheffields pace worried me as Fax seemed to hold off tackling them. Good attack in general. Nash was very Jeykal and Hyde but at least he came good in the end. Holroyd seems to tackle more and Larder (in the 2nd half) seemed to be shouting at the players to get their acts together.

I really had to laugh at this. It's idiots like Lucky, Chris Smith and Greg Florimo who have been sticking the boot in when we had that rough patch at the beginning, and shouting for Calland to be sacked! Not to worry though, I'm sure the status quo will be resumed if we fail to win the GF!



For the record, I have ALWAYS been behind you, Fax, and I ALWAYS will. Well done, a really tough match at Sheff, and we won it. Onwards and upwards eh?

Tony you are =#0000FF******. I say what I feel whether you or others like it or not. My thoughts on Calland remain the same-he cant coach a team to defend and I am not sure we should renew his contract. If we win then good. But I do feel a lot of the attack is down to the skills of individuals rather than planned mastermind tactics from Calland. From the rumours it seems Gene felt the similar.

However the team deserve praise today as Sheffield is always tough and to deny them a bonus point is even better. If the team deserves praise I will give it. If I do not think Fax are playing as they should, then somewhat negative post will be made. Each person has an opinion. If you cant except that persons post that do not read it.

A typical Fax peformance it seems, mor than capable of putting points on the board when we click and want to play but so fragile in defence. We were shaky for the first 15-20 minutes but the triple substitution of Penkywhisky/Penksyskie for Bes Wick Maloney for Ostick and Frank Wattana for Cherrybon changed the game. Not to say the departees had bad games, Ostick and Cherrybon in particular had impressive games.



I would like to see our attacking line stand deeper though, it looks like a jagged defensive line at times and we push the line so far we must pass forward, as we did when Penky made a break in the first half.



I was impressed with Rudd, good yards made and solid in defence. White however is just not good enough anymore, his defence is so naive and weak and offers nothing in attack, where is Haley?

Talk about making yourself look stupid! So everytime we lose we are =#0000FF[irubbish[/i, everytime we win .... WELL DONE!!! Do you "support" Chelsea or Man U re soccer by any chance?

Good win today but on the defence front, if we don't have the right type of players then we'll never be a defensive team. Nash was poor at start but woke up later on but how many times can you lose the ball on the first tackle, that's just not good enough we need to build up pressure, we should have romped home today to be honest. Anyway, 3 more wins and we're in the final.

The bottom line is that we went to a tough away fixture and turned ovber a team that Beat the run-away league leaders last week. And we conceded less points than they did too...



All in all a very good result. Well played lads and well done Matt Calland.

Welcome back Tony, we know who the real fans are, the honest ones, the ones who don't bleat about every little thing that goes wrong.

I always find it odd that when we win, like today, 4 hours after the game the match thread has only 12 posts, but should we dare lose this thread would be on page 3-4 already with 'calland out' 'penky's [ir=#0000FFubbish[/i' 'the players are on the booze' 'random rumours etc'.



That's not me saying that personally to you Lucky Black Cat i can't remember what your (or anyones) posts are specifically, i'm just saying it is clearly noticable and shows that alot of fans feed off a bit of negativity and the theory that we still as a club have some 'devine right to win all games' attitude that is clear amoung certain fans. It's a bit sad to be honest and doesn't help at all.



Alas, posting this after a game we've won has probably bought the mood down
