Oyster cards are useful if you make more than the odd trip to the smoke. I've got one (I'm regularly down there with work) and the fare from Hillingdon (where we usually park) is £1.40 each way with an Oyster. Cheapest way to do things without one is a £8.50 travel card.

Hope you kept it for this year. They don't expire.

If you're doing the stanmore station route, save yourself the car park fare and go to the next station down the line



Canons Park literally 3 mins in the car from Stanmore



Look on google maps at the the streets next to the station, they only have MON-FRI restrictions (i live in the area)

Park for nothing all day and 1 min walk to the station

It can be if the roads are empty.

about ten minutes walk into town theres numerous little cafes and a pizza place

I have used an oyster card for a few years for my infrequent trips(90% for cc or nfl) to london,there has never been any expiry date on pre loaded money.So as useful this year as last year.

Same here, got them a few years ago and just stick a few quid on each time we go down to London, it automatically gets you the cheapest price however you travel.
