Always our preferred choice. Never any problems and often have an excellent breakfast in cafe near station. If you park in the station carpark it is 'cheapish' but can a bit of a wait to get out. Worth it for lack of hassle though. Banter on train always funny on way in but less so on way back when we have lost!! NOT THIS TIME!

How is that a con? Does the shop only open for a ten minute window to fleece people like you? Or should they adjust their opening hours so you are accommodated?

they tell you you can get the refund on the card when you return but the shops closed when you return. loads got caught last year

If memory serves, having got the tube from Stanmore to Wembley for Four Nations last year, it's actually cheaper to buy a full day travelcard than to just pay the return fare - even though its only about three stops  |

Oyster cards are useful if you make more than the odd trip to the smoke. I've got one (I'm regularly down there with work) and the fare from Hillingdon (where we usually park) is £1.40 each way with an Oyster. Cheapest way to do things without one is a £8.50 travel card.

If you're doing the stanmore station route, save yourself the car park fare and go to the next station down the line
Canons Park literally 3 mins in the car from Stanmore
Look on google maps at the the streets next to the station, they only have MON-FRI restrictions (i live in the area)
Park for nothing all day and 1 min walk to the station
Longcrofte Road
Cornbury Road
Howberry Road
Cheyneys Avenue
Cloysters Wood
Watersfield way
All HA8 postcode, seriously it's what i would do, keep your costs down.
Donnefield avenue too, but usually no space
