i used to live in warrington now in pool i wear my colours round here and they ask me what football team it is we need more rl supporters in blackpool

Do as i do and spread the word. Moved here 20 years ago and me and my lad always wear our colours around the town, we now have quite a few that follow the Wire and several that go to games where possible.



I reckon at the rate we have been converting them we will have a coach full to bring down every week by...............2096

No im from warrington, moved here for university.

I'm afraid I left Blackpool at the end of August (I'm not that afraid actually but there you go), so glad the flag is still flying on the Fylde.



You'll find Blackpool is a good place to be a RL fan, you can watch the rugby in a number of town centre pubs (The Hop was always my favourite) and there are a lot of RL fans in the town. Sadly, Wigan fans make up the majority (Blackpool is where 'posh' Wiganers end up) but you'll meet more than your share of Saints and Wire supporters.



The legendary Steve Hesford can regularly be spotted in the pubs around Bispham and is a really nice guy if you spot him. You'll get double kudos if you tell him his points record is more impressive than Briers' because there were no 80-point victories in his day (and he's got a point).



Enjoy your stay in the town, it's actually far better than people give it credit for.

I lived in Thornton mid to late 80's. Used to see Steve Hesford regularly in the Golden Eagle.Think the landlord of the GE at that time was from Warrington too.

Yeah the landlord of the GE was from warrington, infact he is my wifes cousin. My wife and i both live in blackpool...wifes warrantonian she got me into the game and her mum, brother also live here. So aswell as us i have 4 or 5 m8s at work who we have brought on board and my lad aswell.
