Cant see this anywhere on here but it was emailed to me today and I 100 per cent agree with it.
God help us if our chairman really does decide hes fighting a losing battle.

| If AT decides its time to go it will be time for somebody else to come forward, get rid of all the existing shareholders and have their time at the helm of our great club - ie administration.
I hope AT doesn't feel that time is now after what he has done but I can understand his frustrations at our gates. We have the worst marketing team in any sport and you reap what you sowe, they are clueless at developing a fan base, a mission statement, a crusade to get behind and often seemed uninterested as long as the dining tables were full. Our move to the LSV, and I accept the LSV were assholes, was a classic example of cluelessness or 'build it and they will come mentality'
Sport is about income and its patently obvious we have reduced income due to playing at LSV. That gap in income and outgoings is being met by AT, but what are his team doing to eliminate that gap?
AT has his way of how he runs his business's, he has earned that right but I pray he can get some people around him to develop the brand and increase income to reduce his burden.
We have a great product on display but what is the pot of gold at the end and how can we get punters to buy into a vision by coming through the gate. I fear 12 o clock will be a disaster on Friday, but I will be there with the other 1800 hardcore and I trust the club will recognise its not we 1800 they need to sell to but the 1800 not there.

Spot on Mo - and whoever decided on the 12 noon KO ? Everyone I have spoken to says its a s4it3 time.
" =#0040FF[iGood Friday when the Centurions entertain Barrow with a 12pm kick off which will give everyone time to watch the match and then enjoy the rest of the bank holiday[/i"
And what do we do at 2pm onwards on a Good Friday?
Poor decision I think as most families will find things to do mid morning to late afternoon and an evening KO would have been far better. Who makes these decisions? We are pleading for more fans to help AT yet who is consulted on this type of thing. I know of several self employed who cannot attend on Friday - great idea.

| With sky showing two matches early afternoon I'd have thought it made more sense to have an evening kick off myself. Reading that statement though sounded like a warning that all is not well.

| Our crowds have grown every year from '09-1984. 00-2144 to this year 2569. But don't let facts get in the way of a good whinge eh. I'd say our marketing team would be happy with that.
I'll be honest the 12 o'clock kick off suits me fine. Robin Hood, Leigh v Barrow then Hare and Hounds for Wiggin-Saints and then take the mrs out for tea. Happy days.

| Stay away fans are killing our club , and also putting more pressure on AT with that extra income not coming through the gates . I try and make it to every home game that I can , mainly down to work and the fact that for the last 2 years I have had to work more sundays than I've actually had off. That's about to change , as from July I will have worked my notice and won't have to work Sundays anymore ( HAPPY DAYS ). This would of happened much sooner but for being fobbed off and being made false promises about sundays off.
The club on the whole if they were allowed to have more in the running of things , i.e. Concourse bars and food outlets and also a main Supporters bar with decent prices , maybe then the revenue would be a little better having all those things generating money back into the club . Big differences from Hilton Park is , fans used to stay in the bar after the game and maybe for 2 or 3 drinks and also in a family environment where they felt welcome . Compare that to the LSV where fans meet elsewhere before the game , and also after the game when fans go elsewhere spending money in other clubs and pubs that could be extra revenue coming back into the clubs pockets if only fans were made to feel welcome in staying after the game. That said , if the club had no choice in the matter then that blame can only lie at the door of the LSV.
AT has funded our Club for years now , and longer than some people think . Totally agree with trying to get more supporters back , but the alarming thing is , that if the stay away fans that were keeping away when we weren't doing the buisness on the field are not slowly returning to see us playing some great rugby league at the moment then I don't know what will get them back through the turnstyles . Maybe tough times ahead for us and no one could blame AT for feeling like he's been doing this for a while now . COME ON PEOPLE OF LEIGH , YOUR LEIGH RL NEEDS YOU !!!

Well said Maurice!!
The club desperatley needs some marketing yes the regulars will come on here and say who will pay for this but if they do nothing other than the odd e-mail to already established fans and posters inside the ground then how do they expect more fans!!
If they do it well enough the marketing shold pay for itself, that should be their aim from it as then they would have some extra fans and its cost nothing, anything over that then would be a fantastic result!

| IF the club had gone with a 6 o clock KO they'd have got slagged off, and I think less would have come, because.... some would have turned out to watch the other games and stayed in the pub, some in their garden s barbeqeuing if its nice, or shopping (Iknow on Good Friday,ASDAs opened till 6 and some saddos do silly stuff like that!
Basically they can't win, have people not thought the earlier the KO the LONGER THE TEAM HAVE TO RECOVER BEFORE EASTER MONDAY???????,
As with the Catalans game being Friday, some will not be able to make it but the club will have thought it through and decided on whats best for the team. WE play Fri and its then 8 days before the next game.
AS for the chairman, God love Arthur and all of the people who put their hard earned money into our club, as there being people to come in should he go, dont kid yourself, why aren't they in now if thats the case, Id be very worried if Arthur got fed up! Very worried.
Lets all do our bit and try and support the club, new fans is what we need, the old ones still believe the clubs being" robbed blind", I know I still get it said to me, Ill never go whilst, "such a body" there etc etc .
I go because I love watching my team and even if the KO times arent ideal I will go if I can.

Agreed, KO time has quite a lot of sense if you look at it from the players perspective.
By the way, does anyone know where I can find out our average attendances pre 2005? Was just wondering the last time we averaged over 2500 in the second tier.
