Matty Smith is a fraud We need Williams playing and we need a specialist hooker cos Powell is nowhere near good enough and Beswick is not the answer

Never was!

Probably the worst game of his Wigan career.

Ive been a big critic of Powell but since MM has been out I think he has stepped up and done ok. A few times tonight he was looking round for a dominant half, and ended up throwing his hands in the air out of frustration at nobody taking control.



Smith alongside a dominant 6 is adequate, sometimes very good, however when he has to be the dominant half he simply crumbles and goes missing.



It may be to the detriment of results short term but for me you have to bring Rocky back into the equation. Let him and Williams gel at first team level even if it costs us a few games.



I sadly think however with our coaching ethos we could have a half back partnership of Johns and Lewis and we would still struggle to create space or open up an opposition defence.

I don't think he's been as bad as some have made out so far this season, not great either mind. But tonight was an absolute stinker. Mis-fired passes, terrible all round kicking and that knock on at the end was just the cherry on the cake.



I hope he is hurting tonight and it fires him up for a big performance on Friday.

A prop at 6 and Smith at 7 = receipe for disaster.

I like Smith and think he's capable of doing a Solid job but unfortunately tonight just wasn't his night. Probably the worst I've seen him play for us. I think now he's effectively on his own so to speak he's struggling,



with powell at hooker and lockers trying to fill in at 6 we don't have any one else to create anything and if that one person isn't firing then you get what happened tonight.



I really think not getting someone in to replace micky mac could hurt us. Powell is doing a good job but if we can get someone in at hooker and have powell sharing the responsibility with smith it would give us another option, and then when Williams returns we've got another player capable of of sharing the hooker/halves role.

Nope! Not based on what he's shown over the last two years.



O'Loughlin was playing prop at the start of the year but put him to shame tonight. The only glimpses of creativity were coming from him and the accuracy of his passes was excellent. Smith...not so much.

Should have been binned for the trip as well.
