| Trojan Horse: alegend: Trojan Horse: Shifty Cat: Yeah, I wonder if we enquired as well. I had ideas that it'd have been good to get both brothers here for next season and then Batch signed an extension for Hull KR and my enthusiasm went away. I could have sworn I looked up Joe to see what his contract was at Saints and thought he had another 2 years which also put a spanner in the works to signing both but I must have got it wrong.
Agree with that, with Smoothy coming I just feel like we could do with one statement English based signing for next season. There are players who would certainly be of interest to us like Jordan Crowther, who I think has improved as a player. Loose is a position we need to strengthen next season. Though his career has stalled somewhat Eseh could be worth a look for 2026 to develop. He’s likely going to fill out a bit too over next few years.
We do not need J C does a 15/20 mins job for Wires , and i think he as not improved that much just a work horse with is defence but does not offer any thing else and suits Wires game plan .As far as lose forward is concerned Smoothy as played there, so let's get over bringing back x players, never works out . They left a poor team ,we are in a stronger position so need players that can push us forwards to been in the top 6 consistently
Can’t agree with that fully. Johnstone, Hall, Pitts, Croft - all players that have returned and have a part to play in the continual development of the club. Past players are lake any other player and should be brought in if they fit what the club wants/needs and not just written because they played for us. Crowther looks physically to have matured a little and I think could be an option to offer us something in the middle at 13. A position where if Pitts gets injured we will struggle. There are a lot of players out there. Just running a few through my head who could improve not just the starting13/17 but the wider squad and depth as a whole. T J was injured early in the season we got relegated and moved to Cataland and got through to Semi-finals and finals .Hall was forced out Croft had to be let go but the club because of some kind of rule .The players i am on about are players who decided they were going way before the last season in S L was half way through . Player's like Hood ,Lino, Pitts and Max stood by us .And gave 100% in the Championship to get us back into the S L .We need players who can win a game for us next year if we are going to be a force in the top 6 next year This year we have a good squad that give 100% to the team and fans ,and no egos in site

| imwakefieldtillidie: Trojan Horse: After only 1 game it’s way too early for me to decide if Atoni is one we should keep beyond this season.
A few more performances like vs saints and some consistency at SL level would go a long way to convincing me though.
I'm the same with Atoni. Unfortunately he was poor last time he was in SL, he needs to show he's moved on from that.
Give over. He started very tentatively but hit some good form or moved on as you say, once Fifita took him under his wing.

No, I won’t give over. He was poor 2/3 of the season and improved the last 1/3 of the season. A season which we still finished rock bottom and got relegated. I want to see some consistent good performances from Atoni before I make my mind up about him. What exactly is wrong with that? He has a lot to prove at SL level especially after our last time here in 2023.

I think the 'give over' was aimed at the bit before your post about, ' he was poor last time he was in SL'. As most agree once he got some backup in the middle he finished pretty strong in 2023. TBf To Atoni, like plenty of guys that arrive from down under, he started slowly and to add to that he was in a poor team, all over the place in structure, quality and confidence. When he got some extra help in the middle when Fifita arrived, we saw him get more & more confidence and he finished the last 10 games or so off well imo he showed he was a SL-quality player. I think he's improved since then, even taking into account the comp last year, under DP and the guys, he's got fitter, finds his front more, rather than milking every meter and cracks on and plays the ball quicker than when he first arrived. For me, it's just about injuries and keeping his form consistent, if he does that he's a quality Prop, who I haven't got many doubts about.
