| Can't wait!, be another cracking weekend!
It's always a bit odd not being the only RL supporter at Hartlepool station.

| Hope the Hull fans turn up early or the stadium will be empty for the majority of Sunday.

| I really don't get excited about this - why not just have a regular round if we insist on an event like this? As it is, it just skews the table by handing gimmes to a few teams - this year, Saints, WT and Hull FC.

| never been to one and don't intend to start now. If it was part of the regular season I would probably visit but while ever it remains THE EXTRA GAME I have no intention of visiting.
Why couldn't it be part of the end of season 8s comp.

| I love it. Makes a game desperately short of money errr some money. I don't get the problem.

I like the concept of multiple games being broadcast and made available to a wider audience, but I do think that it can skew the league.
Why not play 22 games (home and away) and then do the split, with the Magic weekend then being used to launch the Super 8s, then giving everyone 3 home, 3 away and the Magic game in the Super 8s.

An entirely sensible suggestion which would give the Magic Weekend an ounce of credibility if it must be retained.
Given that it must cost the RFL to hire the venue, clubs gain no benefit from any stadium sales, the aggregate crowds are usually lower than if the matches were played as a normal weekend and everyone's costs are massively increased to just attend, how can it be seen to be a moneyspinner for the RFL?

That's what I would have said if I'd thought about it more; an entirely sensible way to remove the effect it has on the league, and make it more meaningful.

| I still think its a great idea and not sure what the negative fuss is about tbh.
The effect on the league, given the total number of games is negligible (imo)
Its hard to say who has the easier fixtures at this stage, certainly don't think we have a gimme at all. The only strange one is Widnes v Sts, I would have probably stuck with Wigan v Sts and Widnes v Warrington.
