Beat the cynics mate. They're everywhere it seems in RL. Sometimes I wonder why they're fans of the game or our club the amount they whinge about everything to do with everything. Apparently one of our former stars who found himself in hard times to the point where he nearly killed himself, deserves the cold shoulder from the fans of the club he served for nearly a decade.



I'd say I'd be ashamed to be supporting the same club as people like this, but they're in all walks of life and should just be treated with the contempt they deserve.

One of the top wingers i have seen playing for Hull in about 40 years. He gave us almost 10 years of 100% commitment. He made errors in life like many people but has paid his dues. There is a lot of people doing worse things in life. Quality in both attack and defence. Hope everything works out well for him. Good luck Gareth.

I kind of agree with you. He did commit crimes and did so knowingly and has apparently being involved in other incidients as well, including some that were prejudice in nature - but at the same time I reconise that nobody is perfect, he was a fantasic player who did give his all for Hull FC and has paid his "price" through his inprisionment and severe damage to his career, which I'm sure would have otherwise probably flourished. For me, the fact that he has got to the point of having sucidial thoughts means that he has paid a price to far (if that makes sense).



I see both sides of the argument - while I certainly don't want to be his mate, I don't hate him and I have a respect for him as a player and as somebody who (apparently) is trying to turn things around. FWIW, I wish him the best.
