Duffen shouldn't be able to get away with such a sweeping, disdainful comment about RL fans!



Duffen, by his own admission, is ignorant of Rugby League. But I suspect that his naivety is now in danger of being replaced by outright hostility towards this 'rival' sport to his beloved football.



For all his faults, at least Adam Pearson was reasonably respectful towards the Rugby League community in this City, presumably because he was raised in the RL heartlands itself and understood its history.



For all his protestations to the contrary, Duffen COULD easily have secured an RL Test Match for the KC Stadium (as exemplified by Wigan) and quite frankly his attempts to shift the blame towards the RFL are pathetic (why should they be forced to wait until June for an answer??)!

I wonder if there is a way to have the SMC removed and let the Stadium be run by a committee of local people, a rep from all local clubs, local businessmen etc?

It may have been a tongue in cheek comment however it is not what you expect from the chairman of a Premership Football Club. I am offended by his ignorance.He should make a public apology to rugby supporters.

I am sure the mighty East & South stand can let him know how unhappy we are with him tommorrow night

I just hope the east and south not only tell him how unhappy we are but show him also by boycotting the food/drink in the stadium.

When asked if he had responding to many letters from rugby fans about refusing an international match at the KC, he said "that can't be true because they cannot write".

Was this played on the air? If so its absolutely disgraceful and grounds for an apology at least and potentially disciplinary action.
